The Cobalt Qube 3 is a server appliance that integrates all of the necessary tools and applications to get your organization up and running with a powerful Web presence. From the minute you turn it on, the Qube 3 gives you the ability to launch a website full of rich content, securely share your internet connection across your company or workgroup, create and manage your own email system, and share your documents and files across the network.
Designed to support as many as 150 networked users, the Cobalt Qube 3 has the ability to give just about anyone the power and versatility of an in-house network server. It can perform all the network management functionality traditionally handled by a more complex and expensive general-purpose server. It can also handle more than 35 million Web objects and 400,000 emails in a single day.

Auto-configure Network
The Cobalt Qube 3 includes the option to automatically configure your internal network to use DHCP, DNS, NAT and Web Services.

Web Publishing
Create and host your own Web site. The Cobalt Qube 3 offers integrated support for CGI, Perl and PHP scripting, Interbase 6, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and is also pre-configured to support FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.

Email Services And Webmail
Individual email, group mailing lists, vacation replies, automatic forwarding, scheduled email delivery and retrieval, and multi-drop support. All standard (POP3, IMAP) email clients are supported. Cobalt WebMail client has been included to allow your users access to their email through a standard Web browser.

Cobalt Bluelinq Application Delivery Service
The Qube 3 automatically informs the administrator of available system updates and patches as well as new applications for the Qube 3.

Security
The built-in packet filter firewall can easily be configured to protect your companys private data while giving your users full Internet access. 128-bit SSL encryption provides for secure remote administration.

User Import And Export
Import your user lists through LDAP or tab-delimited text files, and make your companys email addresses available to standard LDAP clients.

Network Address Translation (nat)
Share a single Internet connection with an entire office, while adding extra protection by hiding your internal network from the Internet.

Cross-platform File Services
Windows and Mac OS users can exchange information by using Windows and Apple File Sharing. The Cobalt Qube 3 also supports File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet
Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet is supported to allow you to authenticate your Qube 3 on a broadband network.

Enhanced Backup/restore
Backup and restore can be scheduled to a shared directory (Windows or NFS) or an FTP site.

Web Caching (optional)
Caching improves the performance of your Internet access by reducing network traffic and increasing the speed of page lookups.

Raid 1 (optional)
The Cobalt Qube 3 includes software RAID 1, which ensures the availability of content in the event of disk failure through data redundancy over two disks.
