Independent Sun Enterprise 6000 Server Support Expertise

Sun Enterprise 6000With the Sun Enterprise 6000 server, you can now deploy extremely large scale, mission-critical applications in a network environment.
Companies everywhere realize the tremendous benefits they can achieve by utilizing network computing to implement decision support and transaction processing systems. However, some databases and transaction volumes are so large they could only be supported by mainframe systems. The Sun Enterprise 6000 servers enables you to build network computing applications of a size and scale that previously required mainframes. You get the benefits of improved data access and flexibility even as your databases grow to multiple terabytes.
What makes this possible is a design optimized for extremely heavy I/O throughput. At the heart of the Sun Enterprise 6000 server is the GigaplaneTM, a 2.6-GB/sec system interconnect with more than twice the I/O capacity of competing systems. Connected to the Gigaplane are up to 30 high-speed UltraSPARCTM processors, 30 GB of memory, and 30 I/O channels. Combine that with the multiprocessing efficiency of the SolarisTM operating environment, and the Enterprise 6000 will support thousands of network clients doing transaction processing. It can even handle data warehouses with multiple terabytes of data.
