The HPC 4500 can scale to support extremely compute-intensive workloads because the GigaplaneTM, our 2.6-GB/sec system interconnect, delivers extremely high bandwidth and very low sustained latencies.
Providing the flexibility to adapt to rapidly increasing computing workloads, the HPC 4500 can support up to 14 high-speed UltraSPARCTM processors and 14 GB of memory. Its hot-swapable components can be serviced while the system continues to run. In addition, the SolsticeTM SyMONTM system monitor can predict potential failures and automatically warn the system administrator and SunServiceSM personnel so preventive action can be taken.
