Sun Fire E20KThe Sun Fire E20K server is a high-performance, high-end data center server that scales up to 36 UltraSPARC IV processors with chip multithreading technology executing 72 simultaneous computing threads. With these processors plus new hsPCI+ I/O assembles, the Sun Fire E20K along side the Sun Fire E25K, provide the highest CPU density of any of the servers in Sun's range.
The Sun Fire E20K is the UltraSPARC version of the Sun Fire 12K. This server requires Solaris 8 (2/04) or Solaris 9 (4/04) or later.
High availability is achieved with full hardware redundancy, fault-isolated dynamic system domains, and dynamic reconfiguration for hot swapping key server components while applications are up and running.
With the benefit of the uniboards, it is possible to mix and match UltraSPARC III processors with UltraSPARC IV processors in the same system and/or domain.
